  • Congratulations, Lyman High School! Once again, Lyman High School has been ranked as one of the TOP HIGH SCHOOLS in the NATION, by Newsweek Magazine's 2013 America's Best High Schools Report. This is in addition to our recent ranking as one of the TOP 3% of all high schools in the nation by the Washington Post.
    • Newsweek's ranking highlights the best 2,000 public high schools in the nation out of 20,000—those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college acceptance rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course (5 percent).
    • We are ranked in the top 7% of all 20,000 high schools, and we're one of the TOP 2,000 high schools in the nation!

This places us 614 out of the top 1900 schools honored and out of the nearly 20,000 eligible schools nationwide.
