There are some significant changes to the registration and security requirements for both SAT and ACT testing this year. Student photos will be added to registration tickets and both tickets and acceptable photo ID's will need to be presented at the time of testing. There will be no more registration on the day of the test for standby testing. To read about all the new changes in detail, please visit the test registration websites.

ACT Testing
The ACT Test is a curriculum- and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students' academic readiness for college. The ACT Test is the capstone of our College and Career Readiness System. The test uses the same score scale as ACT Explore and ACT Plan, making the system an effective tool to monitor academic progress and student growth. The ACT consist of four multiple-choice tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. The ACT Plus Writing includes the four multiple-choice tests and a Writing test. For more information, please visit www.actstudent.org

PSAT Testing
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is a standardized test that provides first hand practice for the SAT©. It also gives you the chance to enter National Merit Scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. Lyman High School has committed to making the PSAT a priority for some of its students and has paid for some students to take this test to give them opportunities to succeed. For more information, please visit www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/about.html

SAT Testing
The SAT and SAT Subject Tests are a suite of tools designed to assess your academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students. The SAT and SAT Subject Tests keep pace with the expectations of today's colleges and measure the skills required for success in the 21st century.
